Hi, I’m Howie Campbell, and this is a Wisdom and Truth Minute.
Who hasn’t heard the expression, “Thank God it’s Friday”? Some say it with a sigh of relief after a strenuous workweek. Others look forward to the coming weekend activities. I wonder if anyone thanks God for what he did on Friday. Do you realize that Friday is the sixth day? That means Saturday is the Sabbath rest, the seventh day. That also means Monday isn’t the first day of the week – Sunday is!
Listen to what God did on Friday, from Genesis 1:27-28: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them.” Since God created and blessed us on the sixth day, I say, thank God for Friday! How about you?

Many organizations, products, sports teams, and such, have a catchy slogan or motto that defines them. I liked that idea so much I decided to find something people could remember me by. Psalm 34:3 is often placed under my signature, and my daughter even had verses 1-3 burned onto my guitar strap. It goes like this: “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.”(Psalm 34:1-3).
I love it when we can exalt the name of the Lord together. So why don’t we do that just now? Praise you Lord for your goodness. We love you, Jesus!

“The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel; To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity; To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion. A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.” (Proverbs 1:1-6).
Wisdom, justice, judgement, and equity are exactly what we need in our leaders today. Would you take a moment to pray that God would grant us wise leadership, to guide us through these turbulent and uncertain times? And remember – pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
Hi, I’m Howie Campbell, and this is a Wisdom and Truth Minute.
When my children were young, I would read the Bible to them each day. Often we would read through the Psalms or book of Proverbs during the month. I felt it was my responsibility to feed them on God’s word, so they would be wise.
In Psalm 119:9-11, we read: “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to your word. With my whole heart have I sought you: O let me not wander from your commandments.Your word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against you.”
Planting God’s Word deep in our soul, feeding and meditating on it, aligns our thoughts with God’s. It also gives us truth to share with others. May God use you to speak his Word to folks you meet today, and to be an example of his amazing love.
