Hi, I’m Howie Campbell, and this is a Wisdom and Truth Minute.
Ever hear the expression “there aren’t enough hours in the day”? Sometimes, it seems there just isn’t enough time to get everything done that needs doing. The reality is, we all have exactly the same amount of time in every day. What doesn’t get done today will surely be there tomorrow.
The writer of Psalm 90:12 said, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts to wisdom.” Lord, please grant us the wisdom we need to accomplish our daily tasks, and help us not to be overcome with frustration should there be tasks left at the end of the day. Amen.

God answers prayer. Yes, He does! I’m not saying He caters to our every whim, but He does care about us, and wants us to pray to Him. Some have laid out a formula for prayer, in order to get results, but I think it’s more organic than that. We pray fervently, with a sincere heart, according to God’s will, and He chooses when and how to answer. We all have needs. Some of these are beyond our ability to handle. That’s why Paul said, in 1 Thessalonians 5:17, “Pray without ceasing.”

Watching the wind rustle the leaves of the poplar trees early one morning caused me to ponder the sublime power of the wind. On a hot day, the wind provides a cool, refreshing breeze. That same wind can also become a fierce, damaging gale.
God is like that. To His friends, He is calm assurance of eternal life – and more abundant life now. To His enemies, He is a dangerous and powerful force no one can withstand. Be sure you are His friend, and enjoy His goodness in your life.

Did you cause the sun to rise this morning? To warm the earth and give you light? Did you awaken the birds, and cause them to sing joyfully in the trees? Did you cause the rain to fall, watering the earth, so that the plants would grow, bringing forth flowers and food?
No. God, our creator, the Lord of life, did that. Psalm 100:3 says, “Know that the Lord He is God. It is He that has made us, and not we ourselves. We are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.” I will praise him everyday, for He is good, and his mercy is everlasting.

Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world. Red and yellow, black and white – all are precious in his sight. Excitement, wonder, simple faith, forgiving, loving – these are words that come to mind when I think of children. You know, the word ‘children’ is found 1,822 times in 1,524 verses in the Bible. I guess children are rather important in God’s mind.
Listen to Psalm 127:3-4: “Look, children are an heritage from the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is His reward. As arrows are in the hands of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.” You may want to spend more time caring for children. They are our heritage, friends.
